YPC is a Not-for-profit Corporation

YPC is a corporation, organized under the laws of Ohio, which is tax-exempt under 501(c)(3).  This means that YPC operates for a charitable purpose and can raise money for charitable purposes through tax deductible donations.    Because YPC controls minimal funds and has not been the recipient of large gifts, it has been exempt from many of the requirements of 501(c)(3) corporations which have larger budgets.  

Like all corporations and individuals, YPC and other 501(c)(3) corporations must maintain proper records.  These records must also include the proper documentation of income, expenditures, and assets that show YPC meets the requirements of 501(c)(3) and other tax codes.   

People involved in 501(c)(3) corporations must ensure that any action by or on behalf of the corporation does not destroy the legal status of the corporation.
