Young Professionals of Columbus Committees

Put your talents to work or develop talents and skills that you have always wanted to. Join a committee.  YPC Committee’s provide you an opportunity to be the expert.  They also allow for opportunities for you to develop and grow skills that you do not have a chance to do within your current job. Real non-profit experience you can add to your resume. One example: Always wanted to help build and mantain a website? Get involved in this with YPC and add to your experience!

Social and Cultural Committee

The social/cultural committee is responsible for coordinating all social and cultural events for the entire board.  Members of this committee strive to foster members’ relationships amongst other YPC members, community leaders, organizations, and businesses through social and cultural events that also provide an additional component of professional development, education, and/or community insight.


Philanthropy Committee

The philanthropy committee is responsible for identifying and planning all philanthropic and volunteer activities and events for the board.  Members of this committee strive to select non-profit organizations that align with YPC’s mission while coordinating other philanthropic opportunities for YPC members.


Membership Committee

The membership committee is responsible for the attraction and retention of young professionals to the organization by promoting the YPC has to offer. The membership committee welcomes members and guests at events, answers membership related questions, oversees the renewal of current YPC membership, and plans membership drives.


Professional Development Committee

The professional development committee plans and executes professional networking events, classes, seminars, and guest speakers in order to further YPC members’ professional education, skills, and overall development. These events connect YPC members with a variety of leaders in the Columbus community including business, philanthropic, academic, and political communities.

 

Communications and Marketing Committee

The communications and marketing committee is responsible for marketing and promoting YPC to potential members through print, online, and relationship based marketing.  Members of this committee maintain the YPC Website, as well as the organization’s social utility pages on MySpace, Facebook, and LinkedIn.  This committee handles the communication of events, calendar management, Website updates, pictures, and any additional updates as needed.  Members of this committee work together to cultivate relationships with media outlets, colleges and universities, human resource departments, and other YP group leaders.  This committee works closely with all other committees to make sure information is accurate and current.


Development Committee

The Development committee is responsible for identifying corporate sponsorship opportunities in the Columbus area.  These corporations must align with the YPC mission, vision and values and be committed to developing future leaders in Central Ohio.  This committee will cultivate relationships and create partnerships with the corporate community.
